2022 Divisional Weekend Takeaways

Did I watch the best playoff games I’ve ever seen? How did each game somehow top the previous one? Is Joe Burrow really this good? When do the OT rules change? Josh Allen you are incredible and somehow Mahomes is still better! I WANT MORE FOOTBALL!!!!

These were my thoughts watching football this weekend, let’s take it from the best and most recent game. Chiefs 42 - Bills 36. WOW! This was a rare game that was like the weekend and kept getting better and better. Put your phone down and just witness the greatness. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes showing off, displaying all the arm talent everyone wants to see.

Both QBs playing next to perfect, scoring at will and basically forcing the NFL to change the OT rules. There are a lot of alternatives out there, I will not examine them here. Josh Allen should have gotten to touch the ball in OT, I have a feeling he would have scored a TD too.

Anyways, before that game we watched another insane game with a late second finish. Tom Brady and the Bucs trailed the Rams all day, and were at one point down 27-3. But, it’s Tom FUCKING Brady so guess what, yup, you know it, he came back and tied the game 27-27 with less than a minute to go. HOW? The man is not human, just a 44-year old robot alien playing QB. The comeback was insane to watch, you could feel it as you were watching it, and just as quick as it happened, Stafford and Cooper Kupp erased it and got the Rams into FG range to win the game, 30-27.

We also got to watch Aaron Rodgers disappoint Green Bay and all of his fans losing to San Francisco, 13-10. The game was a frigid defensive matchup, where neither the Packers or Niners could get their offenses on track. The Niners special teams blocked a FG and a punt, returning the punt for a TD. Aaron Rodgers, the favorite for his 4th MVP, couldn’t score any points. He got shut down by the Niners defense. He tried to force the ball to Davante Adams, despite Adams being double covered. The Niners continue their road win streak and are headed for a rematch against the Rams in the NFC Championship game. Niners have won the last 6 against the Rams.

The Bengals victory over the Titans solidified my doubt in Ryan Tannehill. I am done ever saying anything nice about this guy again. 3 freaking picks! He threw that damn game away. Pick on first play of game. Pick in Red Zone. Pick on final drive. SMH. Joe Burrow took 9 sacks and somehow the Bengals still won. The Bengals played well and I don’t want to take anything away from them, but the Titans laid an egg at home and blew that game. I don’t know how the Titans can continue with Tannehill as their QB. He’s not the answer there and his salary causes more problems than he’s worth. The Bengals are way ahead of schedule! Good luck against the Chiefs, Joey B. I know y’all beat them a few weeks ago, I think this time might go a little differently.
