NFL Tuesday Takeaways & Picks update
The Arizona Cardinals remain the lone undefeated team in the league after their win in Cleveland this past weekend. Without Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury, who had to remain in Arizona due to a positive COVID-19 test, the Cardinals dominated en route to a 37-14 shellacking. Impressive win, despite the Browns falling apart injury wise, both RB’s hurt, both starting offensive tackles out, OBJ out and Baker getting hurt in the game.
The Cowboys also had a great win in New England. The game got very good and was insanely exciting in the last 3 minutes of the game and overtime. Despite having a lot of questionable at best penalty calls go against them, the Cowboys hung in there and were able to win in New England against Bill Belichik. Dak Prescott threw for 445 yards, the most a Belichik defense has ever allowed. Impressive win for the Cowboys indeed.
The NFL media may have been too quick to crown Brandon Staley and the Chargers. They had a bad loss this past weekend. Going to Baltimore and getting absolutely manhandled by the Ravens. The Ravens had over 185 rushing yards and held the ball for nearly 40 minutes. Herbert struggled and the Chargers couldn’t get anything going offensively.
The Packers and Aaron Rodgers just quietly lurking, taking care of the Bears in a 24-14 win. Rodgers punctuating the win with an “I own you!” chant to Bears fans after scoring the winning TD. That’s gotta hurt the soul of any Bears fan, the fact that Rodgers claimed he just “blacked out” during the game is hilarious to me. Clearly was responding to a fan in the crowd, who may or may not have flipped him the double bird middle finger salute. (spoiler alert, she did)
The Bills and Titans had a wild shootout game on Monday Night Football. Derrick Henry is a monster! He cannot be stopped, he had 3 rushing touchdowns and over 140 yards rushing last night. The Bills inability to stop Henry must be the reason they chose to go for it on 4th and 1 at the Titans 3 yard line. Nonetheless, the Titans were victorious 34-31 in a huge home win.
